Anna at seven o'clock every morning. Her room is small, but it is warm and quiet. She opens the window, looks at the sky, and says, "It is a good day." Then she and puts on her blue sweater.
In the kitchen, Anna makes tea and toast. She likes a simple breakfast because she does not want to . Her cat, Milo, sits near the door and watches her. Anna gives him food and says, "Be good today."
At eight o'clock, Anna leaves her apartment. She checks her bag before she goes downstairs. She has her phone, her keys, her lunch, and a small . She always carries the notebook because she writes new English words in it.
The is near a . The air smells like bread, and people stand in a short line. Anna sees an old woman with a . She smiles and says, "Good morning. Do you need help?" The woman says, "Thank you, dear."
The bus arrives a few minutes late. Anna does not feel angry. She her turn and lets the old woman get on first. Inside the bus, she finds a seat near the window. The city moves slowly outside: shops open, children walk to school, and bikes pass by.
A man sits next to Anna. He sees the notebook in her hands and asks, "Are you studying English?" Anna smiles. "Yes, a little every day." The man says he studies Spanish, and they laugh because learning a language is hard but fun.
When Anna arrives at work, she feels ready for the day. The ride was not special, but it was friendly. She writes one new sentence in her notebook: "Small makes a normal morning better." Then she walks into the office with a happy face.
At lunch, Anna tells her coworker about the bus ride. Her coworker says that city mornings often feel cold because people look at their phones and forget to look at each other. Anna thinks about this. She does not want to be a person who forgets people.
After work, Anna takes the same bus home. This time, the old woman is not there, and the man with the Spanish book is not there. But Anna notices a young father with a baby stroller. The bus is crowded, so Anna moves her bag and gives him more space.
When she comes home, Milo runs to the door. Anna feeds him, makes tea, and opens her notebook again. She writes three words: help, notice, smile. They are simple words, but they are useful. She decides to use them tomorrow, not only write them.
Before bed, Anna puts her blue sweater on the chair and checks her bag. The notebook is inside. The morning will probably be normal again. But Anna now understands that a normal morning can still have a small story inside it.
In the morning, Anna does not know who she will meet. Maybe the bus will be late again. Maybe it will be full. But she feels more patient now. She cannot control the whole city, but she can control one seat, one smile, and one helpful moment.
