On the train home, Owen is quieter. He is tired, but he is also happy. He understands that travel is not only about arriving somewhere. It is about the station, the window seat, the questions, and the people waiting at the end.
At home, Owen tapes the ticket into a small travel notebook. Under it, he writes three words: train, river, Grandma. He cannot spell every word perfectly, but he remembers the day clearly. The ticket becomes the first page of many trips he wants to take. He hopes the next page will have another ticket, another place, and another story.
