While they wait for the food, the friends talk about the test. Nina thinks one question was difficult. Sam thinks the last page was easy. They decide not to worry because the test is finished and they cannot change it now.

The next week, Nina and Sam return to the cafe. This time, Nina wants to order without looking at Sam for help. She practices the sentence in her head: "Can I have tomato soup, please?" When the waiter comes, her voice is quiet but clear.
The waiter understands her easily. Nina feels proud because the words worked in a real place, not only in a classroom. Sam says that food words are easy to remember when the food is in front of you. Nina agrees.
They start a small game. Each time they visit the cafe, they choose one English word from the menu and write it in Nina's notebook. Today the word is cake. Next time, it may be salad, fork, or receipt.
The cafe becomes more than a place to eat. It becomes a calm place to practice. Nina learns that speaking English does not always need a big lesson. Sometimes it can start with soup, a friend, and one polite sentence.
At the end of the month, Nina can order three things without fear. She still makes mistakes, but the waiter understands her. That matters more than perfect grammar. Sam says their cafe practice is the best homework because it comes with cake. Nina writes the new cafe words at home too, so she can remember them before the next visit.
