Apple is testing a without a screen, according to a Bloomberg report. The idea is a wristband that without showing notifications or apps on a display. It would put Apple in the same category as Whoop, whose bands are designed to be worn throughout the day and night.
People familiar with the project told Bloomberg that Apple has built after exploring the idea for several months. One version uses a thin fabric band with a small computing module that rests on the wrist. Sensors would measure heart rate and other health information, but the final features have not been announced.
This is still an early investigation, not a product launch. Apple has not decided whether to sell the device at all. If it does , the report says a release is unlikely before 2028. An Apple spokesperson , so many practical details remain unknown.
A screenless band would offer a different experience from the Apple Watch. A watch can show messages, run apps and display workout data while someone exercises. A band without a display would leave those visual tasks to a phone or another device. For a person who wants to track sleep without wearing a smartwatch to bed, that simpler design could be .
Yet the report does not say what the band would cost or whether it would need a subscription. Battery life, charging and are also open questions. These details could determine whether the device would be useful alongside an Apple Watch or instead appeal to people who do not want a watch.
For now, the strongest fact is that Apple is testing the form factor, not that a new Apple fitness product is on its way. Even a promising prototype can change before release or never reach stores. The next step is an internal decision about whether the idea deserves a full product.
